Metrics

The tests that matter

Four disciplines that separate good athletes from great ones.

Speed

The 20 yard dash is pure linear speed

First step explosion and acceleration win games. This is the universal measure of field speed. A tenth of a second is the difference between caught and clear.

Agility

The pro-agility shuttle measures change of direction

Sport is chaos. The 5-10-5 tests the ability to decelerate, redirect, and re-accelerate. It exposes the stiff and rewards the fluid.

Power

The vertical jump reveals raw explosive power

No run-up. No tricks. Just the ability to generate force against the ground. It translates to rebounds, blocks, and contested catches.

Force

The broad jump is horizontal power projection

This is about creating force and covering distance. It correlates directly to tackling power, diving saves, and first-step burst.

FAQs

Everything you need to know before your athlete steps onto the floor

What age groups can participate

The combine is open to all athletes ages 8 through 18. We group athletes by age and development level to ensure fair competition and accurate benchmarking. Every athlete gets a chance to shine against their peers.

What should my athlete bring

Athletes need court shoes, athletic clothing, and a water bottle. We provide all testing equipment and a numbered jersey. Leave the rest in the car. Come ready to compete.

How early should we arrive

Check-in opens forty-five minutes before the first heat. Arrive at least thirty minutes early to get settled and warm up properly. Late arrivals disrupt the testing flow and shortchange the athlete's preparation.

Can new athletes participate

Absolutely. The combine is open to the public. You do not need to be a current Alchemy Athletics member. It is the perfect way to get a baseline assessment and see where your athlete stands.

How are results shared

Every athlete receives a digital performance card within 48 hours of the event. Results include raw numbers, percentile rankings, and comparison to previous combines if applicable. We also post the top leaderboard marks on our social channels.
