Age-based training

Developmentally appropriate speed, power, strength, and movement coaching designed to meet your athlete exactly where they are and build them up the right way.

Science

Why age matters in athletic development

Training a six-year-old for coordination and fun is fundamentally different from building explosive power in a sixteen-year-old. We match the stimulus to the biological age, not the calendar age, ensuring safety, deep engagement, and results that last a career.

01
Foundations
Play

Ages 4 to 7 years old

Play-based movement, coordination, balance, and listening skills spark a love for being active. We build the athlete from the ground up, starting with joy.

02
Development
Structure

Ages 8 to 11 years old

Foundational strength, running mechanics, and bodyweight control taught in a structured, positive environment. Work ethic becomes a habit here, not a chore.

03
Ascend
Growth

Ages 12 to 14 years old

Introduction to loaded strength training, speed mechanics, and agility during key growth phases. Injury prevention is the priority as the work gets real.

04
Elite
Performance

Ages 15 to 18 plus years old

Advanced strength and power development, sport-specific conditioning, and mental performance. This is the forge for varsity and collegiate athletics.

Scott and his team are fantastic! My son is a division 1 soccer athlete and he found the training both challenging and fun. I highly recommend the Alchemy Athletics Program!

Parent of athlete,
Coach Scott and Kiki are doing a banger of a job getting my girls ready for their sports. Both girls have shown major improvements in endurance, and my 10yr old is now running a 5K in under 20 minutes (down from 30-45min). Kiki has also been a huge help getting her basketball skills ready for AAU. We’re continuing with the school year SAQ program because the results have been super noticeable in both girls.

Highly recommend! Scott does a great job working with kids and making training both challenging and engaging. His focus on speed, strength, and power has made a noticeable difference in performance and confidence. He knows how to push them while keeping it positive and always having fun.

We absolutely love Coach Rob and Kiki! They are amazing with my boys who are 10 and 12 and have created such a positive and encouraging environment for them to train in. They know how to push them and give them great, challenging workouts while still making every session fun and something the boys genuinely look forward to.As a parent, I really appreciate the way they encourage and motivate them, build their confidence, and make working hard feel fun. You can tell they both truly care about the kids they work with and invest their time in and outside of the gym to see them succeed and participate in the sports they’re passionate about!I am so thankful we found them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trainers who are knowledgeable, motivating, positive, and great with young athletes!

Coach Kiki has been awesome to work with. For the past several months he has worked with my daughter to not only sharpen her technical skills but build her confidence and shape her into a better athlete/ basketball player. We are extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him and look forward to continuing working with him in the future!

FAQs

Straight answers to the questions parents ask us most about training young athletes

Is my 5-year-old too young to start?

No. The Foundations tier is built for athletes ages four to seven. We use play-based movement to develop coordination, balance, and listening skills. A child is never too young to learn how to move well.

What does strength training look like for a 10-year-old?

It looks like mastery of bodyweight. Push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, and planks build real strength safely. We teach perfect mechanics before any external load is ever introduced.

How do you group athletes within a session?

We group by biological age and training competency, not just calendar age. An athlete who masters movement progresses. One who needs more time gets it. Every kid is challenged exactly where they are.

Will lifting weights stunt my child's growth?

No. Properly supervised strength training strengthens bones and connective tissue. It prevents injuries. The myth comes from bad coaching and poor form. We provide neither.

How do I know which tier is right for my athlete?

Book a free athletic evaluation. We assess movement quality, strength, and speed. Then we place your athlete in the tier where they will thrive. No guesswork. Just a clear starting point.
